Our Community Education program offers grief workshops and educational events to help our community become more informed about grief and better equipped to support others through loss.
At Emma’s Place, we know that an important part of achieving the vision that no one grieves alone is increasing grief literacy, to help build the skills of communities, schools, faith-based institutions, and professionals to support children and adolescents who are grieving.
Resources for Grieving Families and Those Who Support Them
“If we understand grief better as a society, we can create a safer community and establish connection with others, and can more easily move into healing”
Emma’s Place offers workshops, consultations, and trainings for different audiences on-site at Emma’s Place, in the community, and virtually, depending on preference and need. Program pricing is determined based on program content, duration, and other factors. For more information, email: info@emmasplacesi.org

Emma’s Place has been supporting schools and businesses for years when a death occurs. We have been contacted by our area agencies during local and national tragedies such as Super Storm Sandy and the COVID-19 pandemic.
When faced with not knowing how to help students, we work directly with schools to provide in-school bereavement groups to children and teens and provide education and support to their staff.
Community businesses and social service agencies have often called on Emma’s Place over the years to provide on-site bereavement groups to support their employees through the loss of a co-worker. We also offer grief education, professional development training and conferences to support businesses in whatever way they feel their company can benefit from. Learn what is productive and not productive in understanding loss in supporting your community.
